Electrostatic powder coating equipment is divided into two types, high pressure type and friction type.
1. High pressure electrostatic powder coating equipment
When using high pressure electrostatic coating equipment powder, the same as solvent coatings, high pressure electrostatic co is applied between the electrostatic spray gun and the workpiece,the spray gun is connected to the negative electrode of the electrostatic field, and the workpieceis connected to the ground. The difference is that the powder coating enters the powder electrostatic spray gun from the powder feeder through the powder pipe under the action of purified compressed air. The spray gun head is equipped with sharp-edged metal rings or pole needles as electrodes. When the electrode is connected with high-voltage static electricity, it will produce corona discharge and generate dense negative charge near the electrode. When the powder coating is sprayed from the head of the electrostatic spray gun, it will capture the chargeand be negatively charged, fly to the workpiece under the action of the airflow and electric field, and be adsorbed on its surface.
2. Friction electrostatic powder coating equipment
Friction electrostatic spraying equipment does not require the high-voltage electrostatic generator used in high-voltage electrostatic spraying, and there is no need to establish ahigh pressure electrostatic plant between the powder spray gun and the workpiece. The key is that its powder spray gun is made of strong negative materials. When two materials with different negative charges are rubbed, the weak negative materials of the electrostatic spraying equipment will be positively charged, and the strong negative materials will be negatively charged. When using electrostatic spraying equipment for the powder coating of the weakly negative film-forming material, the collision between the powder coating particles and the friction between the powder and the gun body made of the strong negative material will cause the powder particles to be positively charged. Therefore, when the appropriate material is used to make the spray gun of the electrostatic spraying equipment, the powder will be driven by the compressed air to generate friction and be positively charged when moving in the gun body of the electrostatic spraying equipment. Under the continuous push of the air flow, it will fly to the ground. After being cured, the loose coating film will form a uniform, continuous and smooth coating film.
